Just for Us
We need professional development. Without it, we become stagnant in our careers. One of the biggest issues that I have with seeking professional development is that nothing ever seems to fit the needs of special education teachers. So, I did some digging and found several summer PD sessions for special education teachers to share with you.
The Intentional IEP
The first opportunity for summer PD sessions for special education teachers comes to us from Stephanie of Mrs. D’s Corner and The Intentional IEP. She has a summer series for all special education teachers, preschool through transition. There will be multiple guest presenters sharing tons of action steps about writing IEP goals, the importance of knowing the law, the difference between accommodations and modifications and so much more. There is some free information and an opportunity to join her membership program to learn so much more. It is the perfect way to get a little PD along the way during your summer break. You Can Thrive in SPED
Kara Guiff has put together an outstanding summer PD session for special education teachers, You Can Thrive in SPED. This is a 100% FREE opportunity for you to learn from multiple presenters beginning the end of June. Each session will be emailed out as a video presentation so that you can watch it in your own time frame. The focus of these sessions will be on saving time in planning, instruction, collaboration, IEP writing and more. Many of the presenters are also giving away free prizes for joining their sessions. Who doesn’t love freebies, am I right? There will be 12 days of content geared towards exactly what you need to be a better special educator. Kara joined us back in episode 60 if you want to hear more from her and this incredible opportunity.
Teach it Special
Teach it Special will be happening at the end of July in both pre-recorded and live sessions. This is another wonderful summer PD session for special education teachers. There are 14 different presenters, including me 😄. I’ll be sharing about time saving tech tools that will actually make your life easier. Teach it Special is being hosted by Chyna of Especially SPED. She visited with me in episode 52 where we chatted about setting up systems to be more organized and save some time and sanity. You will find very similar topics in this professional development.
Summer Learning
There are so many wonderful summer PD sessions for special education teachers happening in the next few weeks. Normally, we are begging for opportunities to have presentations geared towards what we do each day. I hope that you take full advantage of these chances to grow in June and July.
